Air Conditioning Repair

When your AC fails in peak summer heat, you need fast relief. Millard Heating & Cooling's certified HVAC technicians diagnose and repair any air conditioning issue fast. We understand extreme heat threatens your health and damages sensitive equipment, so we respond immediately to restore your comfort.

Every home and office can be unique, but many of the issues we repair are similar. Some issues we fix include refrigerant leaks, electrical problems, failed compressors, dirty air filters, and thermostat malfunctions. We stock our vans with the tools and sensors needed to fix most issues in one visit. When we fix your air conditioner, we determine the cause, not just treat the symptoms. This increases the life of your unit and proactively prevents needless breakdowns.

If your a/c fails early in the morning, we're ready to fix it. While other HVAC companies close at 5 PM, we provide 24/7 emergency repair service on nights, weekends, and holidays. The impact is immediate: your family sleeps comfortably through the night, your employees stay productive during business hours, and you avoid costly downtime or health risks from extreme temperatures. When your system fails, every minute without cooling matters. We respond fast, any time of day or year. All repairs come with our warranty of work.

Air Conditioning Replacement

Is your older AC blowing warmer air? It's time to decide: repair or replace. Most property owners dread the cost of a new air conditioning unit, but continuing to repair an aging system often costs more in the long run. Our experienced team will help you make the right call by assessing whether to keep repairing your current unit or invest in a new, efficient system that saves you money. The decision becomes clear when repair costs exceed 50% of replacement cost, your unit is over 10-15 years old, energy bills keep climbing, or breakdowns are becoming frequent. We'll give you honest recommendations—no pressure, just facts to help you choose wisely.

Replace your 15-year-old system and slash your energy bills by up to 40%. In Nebraska's climate, units older than 15 years cost more to repair than they're worth, and they're draining your wallet every month. Today's high efficiency systems deliver immediate, measurable benefits: superior cooling power, cleaner indoor air, and dramatic energy savings from day one. Modern refrigerants cool faster, last longer, and protect the environment while cutting your monthly costs. Plus, you'll pocket additional savings through available tax credits. Stop throwing money at an outdated system; upgrade now and start saving immediately.

Air Conditioning Installation

Once there is a space that is meant for a new air conditioner to help keep your home or office cold, that is when our team can get to work and get you a new unit installed. Before we come in with the vans and staff, our installation process starts with doing a complete evaluation of what your home needs to be cool. For instance, part of what may have caused the former a/c unit to break down is that it was too small for the space that it was trying to cool.

We look at all of the indicators to ensure that your new unit is up for the job. Figuring out what the new unit needs to be depends on the area of your space, how well the insulation of the structure is insulating the interior air and keeping out the exterior temperatures, where the windows are located, and what the temperature preferences are for the occupants. Those factors help find the right unit to recommend.

Now, some people are loyal to specific HVAC brands, while others just want what’s cheapest overall. Luckily, because of our decades of experience and training, we’re able to work with all major HVAC brands and give you a few to pick from to keep your space nice and cool during the Nebraska summer. The newest systems come with variable-speed compressors, smart thermostats, and better filter systems.

We’ll install the new unit in the right space, follow manufacturer specifications, and connect it to your existing ducts so that you don’t have to lift a finger. Each install comes with a complete system check so you know the air is flowing properly, the refrigerant levels are right, the power is connected, and everything is backed by warranty.

New Construction HVAC

If you’re investing in a new home or commercial property, Millard Heating & Cooling is an expert in helping not only in the designing phase, but also with the installation of complete HVAC systems in both new homes and offices. What’s great about building a new space is that we can work with homeowners, architects, and builders to create a cooling system that is custom to your new space that meets your cooling needs and wants.

Part of meeting those needs and wants is determining how strong a new unit you’ll need to optimize your cooling capacity. The system comes along with ductwork design and installation, with planning on where to put returns and vents to equally and effectively distribute air into your space. We also follow all of Nebraska’s building codes to keep everything energy efficient.

With our certification and expertise in many different a/c units, we can offer different temperatures for different zones, so the unit doesn’t have to run at full power just to cool one area. Our entire team will work with you to get everything installed so as not to delay any of the other construction or installation crews.

Air Conditioning Maintenance

Making sure your air conditioner is running properly is not just a task to handle in June or July. It is important for your unit to get annual maintenance and a check from Millard to make sure there are no hidden or underlying issues that will arise during the worst of the summer months. In fact, getting regular maintenance is crucial in extending the life of your air conditioner and avoiding costly repairs.  While a/c units typically last for 15 years in Omaha, that doesn’t mean all of them do. Well-cared-for systems can run for many, many years.

Our team offers a comprehensive and regular maintenance plan to proactively provide thorough inspections of all parts of the system, including both the condenser and evaporator coils, keeping the refrigerant levels up, the blower running at its best, the electrical system working properly, and even checking out your air filters.

Our goal is to catch any problems before they become more severe and expensive. All minor issues will be quickly corrected, and we will provide the unit with a tune-up and maintenance required.

Ductless Air Conditioning

For homes or spaces that need to be cooled individually and not networked into a larger HVAC system, ductless mini-split systems are great for turning garages into a comfortable area fit for watching the Husker game, having family parties, or just hosting family and friends. These units are mounted on the inside and take up minimal space. These units also have an outdoor compressor like the one for a standard home or commercial HVAC system.

These units don’t require any ductwork, so all the cooled air blows into that one room where it was installed. That means none of the cooled air is lost in walls or home frames, and it keeps your garage or space cooled comfortably while reducing up to 30% of cooling costs associated with ductwork. These independent units allow you to control that room’s comfort as its own temperature zone.

We are able to service, repair, replace, and install mini-split ductless a/c units. If you’d like to have one installed, the process is a lot faster than traditional units. Given no ducts, the unit gets mounted directly on the wall with holes being drilled to allow refrigerant lines and electrical wires to connect to the outdoor compressor.

Smart HVAC Thermostats

If the HVAC unit is the heart, your thermostat is the brain of the whole operation. If the information to your unit is incorrect, then your home or office won’t ever be at the right temperature. A smart and modern programmable thermostat helps improve both comfort and efficiency. These digital thermostats can be controlled remotely by smartphones, can learn your family's or business’s patterns to adapt to your schedule, and help you understand how much energy your air conditioner uses.

To save money, you can set different temperatures for different types of days so that your system isn’t running as hard when you’re not in the office or away from home. Thermostats can also be connected to wifi and monitor outside conditions to predict and know how hard the system needs to work without missing a beat.

We work with an install all major thermostat brands and will help you select which model is right for you and your air conditioning system. When we install your new thermostat, we’ll know where the right place to install it is so that it’s not influenced by direct sunlight, other sources of heat, or drafts.

Commercial Air Conditioning

To keep all employees comfortable and working at their best, we offer commercial air conditioning solutions for businesses all around the Omaha metro and surrounding communities. We know keeping your employees cool inside is mandatory during the hot and humid months, and any downtime can greatly affect your company’s bottom line.

Just like our residential services, our commercial services include maintenance, repair, system check, replacement, installation, new construction, ductless, and smart thermostats. From individual mini-splits to large rooftop systems for multi-story buildings, our services take care of everything your business needs, regardless of its office size.

While many HVAC companies in Omaha have specialized in residential cooling, our expert local technicians are also certified and experienced in servicing and maintaining all commercial HVAC applications. Also, if your company has an emergency situation where the air just isn’t cold enough, we provide emergency commercial repair services to keep your business running and open.
